Self-checkout.

There sure has been a lot of controversy about it.

I,for one, if I don't have a cart full of items, prefer self-checkout.

It's fast. There's no chitty chatty. Just find that little scan bar, scan it, listen for the beep and bag it. Pay then I'm out the door and on my way.

I've rarely have ran into any issues with it and if I did, there seems to be an attendant close by, that comes right over to help.

Maybe I've only shopped at and used self-checkouts in "good" stores. Yeah, right. Just kidding.

I've never been questioned or had to show my receipt, while the items I just checked and bagged were gone through and verified.

I have actually heard of this happening to some, but some of y'all are a little shady and maybe need that "check". You know who you are. All joking aside, I'm not sure why self-checkout has been so easy for me.

I know some are so worried that stores with self-checkout are putting willing workers out of work, but seriously, have we not seen all the "Help Wanted" signs on businesses' windows? There are so many. I don't feel people are out of work because of self-checkouts.

By having self-checkout, I'm not sure the company has made more money by not employing more bodies for check out services, I would probably think that they have lost money and it's not that people aren't shopping.

In all good things (or convenience), the bad ones are the reasons for change.

Sadly, some feel they are entitled. Some are dishonest. Some do not have a guilty conscious. Some steal just to steal and some steal just to see if they can get away with it.

It's always the honest people that pay. You might have walked out with it for free, but someone always pays.

I hope they don't do away with self-checkout just because of "some" people.

Self-checkout is convenient and a non-peopley person's friend.
